About John Wrot!, the reigning King at GKG&D:
John Wrot!, the Keeper of the Gate behind Gate Keeper Games & Dice, has been developing dice and games for over 25 years. As an RPG player at heart, his board game designs have dealt with the RPG structure and elements of the medieval fantasy genre, including: superhero games, games of skill, epic card & dice games, and an area control game based on the Count of Monte Cristo. Aside from all that, he is best known for his amazing innovation in DICE! He’s known for innovation, introducing new dice designs, styles, and materials for RPG gaming, including inventing layered resin dice, and being the world’s foremost innovator in resin, silicone, and magnetic dice.

We talk a lot about ‘family’ here. Family is of prime importance to John, whose main goal in life since about 7th grade has been to be a good husband and father. His wife and kids are indeed his joy, and GKG&D is his (beyond) full-time gig to support them. When you become involved with GKG&D, whether just by playing one of our games, reading a Kickstarter Advice Column, or by helping out at a con, you are considered family – and will be protected as such. John has invented countless varieties of dice. The single most important aspect of his dice designs, if you ask him, is that they are “Exclusive to GKG&D. We never resell another company’s dice, and we don’t allow other companies to resell our dice with their own branding. No way! The only place you’ll find these dice is right here!” That matters to us in huge ways. And with over 200 unique custom designs, that’s saying a lot. Integrity in gaming a key value to GKG&D.

About our Games:
The King’s Armory is our first game brought to market, it fits the bill of the Tower Defense Genre just the way we’ve been craving for it. Long, tactical, and deeply thematic, TKA tells a new story every time you play it. But it’s been sold out for years. (I know, I know! I’m sorry!)
A.D.A.P.T. is our 2nd game brought to the industry. It’s a step toward filling the void of uniquely themed oddball games …it’s about mutant fish battling to the death. Not many of those out there.

Is there a way to just get the special edition with all the new characters and cards but not the rest of the game? I am just looking for an expansion like thing to add to my current game.

Dear John: My name is Tony Macari and I’m a professor at Sacred Heart University in Connecticut. I’m writing a research paper on ethics in rewards based crowdfunding. The focal point of the paper is to suggest alternatives protections for backers that would be less restrictive than adding additional legal language or legal penalties. In this way, I hope to help backers receive more protection while maintaining the entrepreneurial spirit that is essential to Kickstarter.
Given the large number of projects that you have backed, I would like to send you a questionnaire. It will contain no more than 20 short questions. Responses will be consolidated and kept anonymous. I am targeting 25 multiple project backers like yourself. Ideally, I will also be able to get 25 responses from one time backers as well, ideally from backers who received their rewards late or not at all.
